Der Yemen ist ein Land das wohl mit Abstand eine der längsten und interessantesten Kaffeegeschichte hat. Seit über 800 Jahren wird hier Kaffee angebaut und getrunken.
Die Varietät Mocha, benannt nach dem Hafen Al Mocha, steht wie keine andere für Kaffee aus Yemen und für die Erfolgsgeschichte der Arabicabohnen. Die Mocha Varität bringt eine sehr hohe Qualität mit sich und hat Noten von Vanille, Kardamon, Rosinen, Schokolade und Steinobst.
Heute steht Yemen für eine der größten humanitären Krisen der Welt. Zwei Drittel der Bevölkerung sind auf humanitäre Hilfe angewiesen. Ein brutaler Krieg, in den viele andere Länder involviert sind, spaltet das Land und führt zu Elend und Armut.

Yemen is a country that probably has by far one of the longest and most interesting coffee history. Coffee has been grown and drunk here for over 800 years. The variety Mocha, named after the port Al Mocha, stands like no other for coffee from Yemen and for the success story of Arabica beans. The Mocha variety brings a very high quality and has notes of vanilla, cardamom, raisins, chocolate and stone fruit.
Today, Yemen represents one of the biggest humanitarian crises in the world. Two-thirds of the population is dependent on humanitarian aid. A brutal war, in which many other countries are involved, divides the country and leads to misery and poverty.
